Software: Emulators for Mac OS X
About
Emulation software allows you to run software on your Macintosh that was originally designed for other platforms. It is also very useful as a development environment for those writing their own software for the systems of yesteryear.
Features
- Completely free to use (except fMSX).
- Efficient CPU usage, for improved battery life on PowerBooks.
- Flexible video display sizes with numerous Blitter effects.
- Sound recording functionality.
- Transparent decompression of GZIP-compressed game files.
Universal Binaries
Note that these emulators require Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
Releases of these emulators compatible with older operating systems can be found here. Note, however, that these do contain assorted bugs which have been fixed in more recent versions. To that end, they are completely unsupported, and are not recommended unless you cannot run the latest versions for some reason. If I start getting support queries relating to these builds, then the mirrors will be removed
